Perfect for parties
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for our Halloween party! The guests loved have somewhere to warm up. It was pretty easy to set up, but power tools did help. It does not come with the propane tank so keep that in mind, but it’s holding up great!

I love it!
|Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, kept us warm while wathing a movie outside. If it looks scrathed, it’s probably just the protective plactic around the heater, theres a sticker that says you need to remove it.

Thrash! Stars shouldn’t be allowed
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this item a while back. Kept it in the garage in the package because we were waiting to finish our gazebo and patio. We opened the package today and this is what the product looks like. Of course it looks like it’s not returnable because I just checked the return time. Shame on Best Buy for selling these damaged product. Lately they’ve been selling very low quality items. Bought a fridge awhile back too and the fridge came damaged

Very Nice Patio Addition for Spring and Fall
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this feels like a nice little heater. The first clear night I had I tried it out. In 40F night with a light breeze I could comfortable sit out on my patio in a sweatshirt. This is a great addition to your backyard to get more use out of spring evenings and to extend the year late into fall as well. I found the assembly to be OK -- Make sure that you get play sand (less than $10/bag at the hardware store) and I filled the base after attaching the brackets for tank. I noticed that it looked like it would be quite uncomfortable to try pouring sand into the cap if I waited to the end like the instructions suggested. I also found that a number of the pieces of hardware that were installed (screws in the burner, bolts in the base) were actually floating around in the shipping packaging instead of where expected, so be very careful when you unwrap everything. Overall assembly took a little over an hour, with the bulk of that time spent filling the sand and removing all of the protective coating from the steel deflector pieces, so pretty straightforward. I found that its a good, quiet heat source - it has a low hiss of a quality gas grill instead of a high decibel woosh, easy to have a conversation over. I've used it on low and medium settings and you can get quiet comfy as far as 5ft away sitting down, it may provide ample heat further than that if I turn it up. I was able to operate it for two hours without any incidents and I didn't notice any off smells or smoking on initial use which can be a problem with propane burners. The wheels are a little flimsy and the ergonomics of moving it around aren't great so I do recommend getting a cover for it and using the stakes to secure it. And then wheel it back to long term storage when the warm nights arrive in summer. I was a little skeptical of getting an Insignia branded propane heater, but I've found its operation to be as good or better than more premium brands in the market and recommend it!

Good heat, classic looks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't encounter any problems assembling it but it came in a lot of small pieces. Some of the metal pieces have razor sharp edges and the protective film on some of the metal takes several minutes to peel off. The heater and other gas parts come fully pre-assembled. I think that the assembly experience needs improvement. Once assembled, it calls for filling the base with sand, dirt and/or water to make it more stable. It also comes with three garden stakes and screw-in anchors for the base. I don't think the stakes would help much but it allows for larger stakes, if staying on dirt. The warning labels are very prominent through the base and the mast. Once the gas tank is installed, it's very easy to use. The electric starter uses an AA battery, included. All stainless-steel construction, except for the burner section which is chromed. It's rated for 48.000 BTUs. It stands up straight, and it's very stable, using the propane tank as bottom weight. For storage (As it's almost 8 ft tall), removing the mast is simple enough. The mast is two pieces and there are four screws on each part.

Once assembled, this thing will heat up!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Insignia Patio Heater It’s been sometime since I’ve owned a Patio Heater, with the last one being about 2 homes ago. However, given the colder winters over the last couple of years, I thought it was time to try out one for our patio at home. In the box, you’ll find the patio heater in several parts, the user manual, the installation hardware, and the warranty info. I should note, that the hardware included doesn’t include a screwdriver or a second wrench which is recommended for easier assembly. I ended up putting this together on my own, and it took about an hour from start to finish. I’d also recommend removing the blue plastic wrap prior to installation, as this was by far the most frustrating part of the assembly. The instructions are fairly straightforward, but I will warn you that the bolts included seem poorly made, as some of the heads didn’t fit well with the included wrench. This resulted in my having to pull out my home tool set and using a couple of different sized wrenches to get everything tightened up. I will say, that all the machined spots all matched up well, and didn’t require a lot of work to screw together. This obviously doesn’t include a propane tank, so prepare to shell out a bit more (in my case around $50) for a new tank. The storage area where the propane tank sits, also includes a small plastic inner container for water or sand to keep the unit from easily tipping over. I opted to use water, as this would make it easier to empty out, should I decide to store this in a storage unit. The patio heater doesn’t include a weather cover, so keep this in mind if it’s exposed to the elements. I found the ignition to work almost immediately during each use, as it includes a small AAA battery for the igniter. So how much heat does this put out. On the highest setting, I found this to cover the entire patio with heat (about 10x10 area) without any issue. Even when the wind was blowing, the heater never once blew out, which was great for the evening I was able to use it. Again, make sure you remove the blue plastic before putting on the top most housing of the heater. I missed a few plastic slivers, and they started smoking as they melted away during my initial use, but didn’t cause any damage. Overall, this does exactly as advertised. It did take a little more effort to assemble, but once it was put together it felt solid, and thus far has been used only a handful of times with plenty of heat. So, if you’re in the market for a patio heater, I’d say give this one a shot!

Q: QuestionCan I use a 30 lb propane tank ?
Asked by Nikki.
- A:Answer It states it only holds up to 20lb propane tanks.
Answered by Crystal
Q: QuestionDoes it come apart? Would like to use it for tailgating at sporting events so it needs to fit a vehicle.
Asked by Pete.
- A:Answer Yes, it comes apart but make sure you have the right tools to dissemble it and to save the screws that hold it together. It is not ideal in terms of transportation. I would suggest taking apart the top, two poles that hold the top, and leaving the base so you would have 4 separate pieces.

Q: QuestionDoes the lower portion get hot? I am worried about toddlers touching it. Also, how many hours does the propane tank last?
Asked by Vol.
- A:Answer No the only portion that gets hot is the top like in the picture. However the propane tank is stored at the bottom and a toddler could easily reach into it and turn the dial turning it on/off so just be mindful of that.
